Product Overview

The SN74LS162AN is a synchronous, presettable, 4-bit decade counter from Texas Instruments. It features internal look-ahead carry for high-speed counting and is designed for use in counting, frequency division, and time-delay applications. The device is fully programmable; that is, the outputs may be preset to any level by entering the desired data at the data inputs while the load input is low. The output changes are synchronous with the low-to-high transition of the clock pulse. The clear function is asynchronous, and a low level at the clear input sets all four flip-flop outputs low, regardless of the levels of clock, load, or data inputs.
