The TPIC6C596PWRG4 from Texas Instruments is a monolithic, high-voltage, high-current power logic 8-bit shift register designed for use in systems that require relatively high load power. This device contains an 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register that feeds an 8-bit D-type storage register. Data transfers through the shift register occur on the rising edge of the shift register clock (SRCK). Data is transferred from the shift register to the storage register on the rising edge of the register clock (RCK). The storage register outputs are connected to eight DMOS transistors that can sink up to 100 mA per channel. The DMOS transistors are protected against inductive loads by integrated diodes.
